I'm a high school teacher, and unfortunately, I have colleagues who are just as heartless as the teacher you described. I also have many who do care. I really try to make my class a safe zone for all. If a student wants to vent or needs a break from the social hell, my room is always open. I hope there is at least one adult at school who will support you and your friend. Find that person!
