We come into the world. And right away we are assigned a name, Identifying traits and a gender by no control of our own. I knew of a very bright bold young lady (who was a friend) who took her life who just wanted to "feel pretty". Literally. She would watch "Pretty Woman" and wear short shorts, tan and run alot. Many people found her behavior as "odd" and she was diagnosed as Manic Depressive. Our society judges women who want to feel good by looking good as promiscuous... "Pre Ga" She happen to love Madonna might I add. If only her family friends and I understood her better when she expressed disdain for the ultimatum of having to be the quintessential person - violinists, Straight A student and Ivy league bound; and instead, just let her be herself first by feeling Sexy... . She permed her hair and tried almost anything to gain confidence. Im sure real conversation, support and a little make up could have saved her life... she needed to feel comfortable in her skin and feel affection. Look ok.
