Gaga isn't perfect. I adore her music and am extremely grateful for her art. But like a lot of people on this planet, she doesn't always make the connection between her consumption and the suffering of non-human animals. I think fur is disgusting and cruel. But so is wearing make-up tested on animals. SOmetimes I think that is worse. Fur is made and the animal is dead (albeit in a torturous manner). Cosmetic testing can go on for a very long time leading to extreme discomfort and deformity. Gaga (and many people) eat meat made from animals that have been raised in cruel ways where the poor creatures suffer for months on end in terrible conditions. I applaud people speaking up about fur but to ONLY speak up about fur and to ignore all the other ways Gaga (and other people) contributes to animal suffering is putting more importance on one type of animal and that is speciesism. I hope Gaga will one day go vegan but I will not cut her art out of my life. I can make the separation. Unless she starts singing about how she doesn't care about animal suffering LOl!
