No, love has no age and some children (like me) knew very very young that they were gay and were attracted by an other boy, it's natural and the mark that their spirit is always free, no shame, no bad ideas or lust. If it was a boy and a girl, the ones who are shoked will say "it's so lovely" , so their reaction is just homophobia !!!
