TO ME: she is just a new singer with two successful studio albums & many video performances since 2009 until today, she is more a performer, there are certainly other singers/bands that are musically more sophisticated and demanding..This is only my own humble opinion..... for the die hard fans might think differently

orlando@ I also have the same thought like you did, I guess it might be based on a commercial thing, what the artist wanted, the record company may plays a role with it........publicity promotion ..etc who knows?
