Honestly, the song is very DWUW as far as the lyrics. I do see some of the @gaga connections in the video-- the most obvious scene being the blonde wig and glasses. However, the biggest issue that I have with the song is that it not only is a rip on Mariah's #ShakeItOff, but it also is very much a copy of Janelle Monáe's #Tightrope. T-Swizzle. as my friends and I have referred to her for years, admitted in the past that she writes music while listening to other people's work on her iPod-- this is why she "accidentally" plagiarized lyrics from Matt Nathanson. I'm curious if she was listening to music from Janelle Monáe while writing her new album . . . it certainly seems like she may have done so. I mean, why else would she and her director agree to the hip-hop scenes in her video? Also, the Tightrope video was choreographed around a lot of ballet influenced movements. Oh T-Swizzle, what are we gonna do with you? I guess this is what you have to do to be a "pop star" today?
