Dear Little Monsters, I’m sitting at my gate at SFO, waiting to board a flight to Vancouver to start what will be a truly epic adventure. I’m excited, I’m nervous and I’m so grateful for the incredible opportunity. I have a long to do list and that to do list will just multiply after I land in Vancouver, so before I do – I wanted to come here, to the Little Monsters, and to tell you how incredible honored I am to have this opportunity, to work alongside all of you to spread kindness, inspire bravery and build community. I may not post here as often as I should but I lurk, and I watch you support one another, embody our mission and build a community that is truly building a kinder and braver world. Thank you for supporting Born This Way Foundation over the years, and thank you for believing in the power of kindness to change the world. As many of you know, I have two young children and today, I will leave my family for most of the next five months to join Cynthia and our team at Born This Way Foundation on tour. I want to fill our days on tour with kindness. We want to meet incredible young people who are using kindness to change their schools. We want to volunteer alongside incredible non-profits that believe in the power of young people. We want to visit schools that are promoting mental health. Truly and desperately, I want to tell my kids that I left because I had important work to do across the world and that after our five months on tour, we are a little closer to that kinder and braver world that we all imagine, and know is possible.
