GAGA wanted it to be the first single but the dick of a manager said no and I think that if gaga had brought out ARTPOP now with her new management the promo would have went better & ARTPOP wud have been better received by critics. I'm not saying that ARTPOP was bad but it was the only album that my friends had never heard about until I told them but I still love ARTPOP and I would never disrespect it

Aura was actually the first single off ARTPOP but her manger choose Applause which was a good single too! but her old manger pretty much ruin this era and controlled this album and Gaga had no choice to do it

I think Aura would receive good critics. I always wished Aura as a single but she didn't. To me, Aura is the best song of ARTPOP!

If Gaga had her way the whole era would have been different. We would have gotten to see ARTPOP the way Gaga wanted us to. It's a shame that we will never get to see her vision :(

Applause was the most successful single off of ARTPOP. As for Aura I think it would be received by the public differently. But since it would have been the debut single. Radios would have played it a lot. And I think people would really enjoy it after awhile especially if you take out the creepy beginning and start with the verses. I think it would have done really well on the charts. Now I love Applause but it's not as exciting or thrilling as the Zedd produced Aura. Which would have made Aura a very unique song at the time. And if Aura was compared to Katy perry song ROAR. I think people would have to stand by Gaga's song for its originality and thrilling beats. Where as applause was kinda like a plainish compared to Peppy Katy song. Aura would also have been a bigger highlight at the VMA's than applause because you can do a lot of cool things performance wise with the song. In conclusion Aura would have been a more BOLD choice as the debut single. And even though it might have been risky it would have payed off in the end. And Be a club banger today 😄
