That's about $1 per song. To me this album is priceless. Just because there was only two music videos should not be a reason to question an entire albums worth. If lady gaga stopped making music videos would you never buy her albums again? Sometime we forget that it's all about the music. The voice. The soul. Before the 80s we didn't even have music videos. And you can't blame gaga for any of it. You know that it was because of her management problems.
I actually purchased it twice. Had it ordered on iTunes, I couldn't get iTunes up while I was at University so on the day of release I purchased an MP3 copy from 7Digital and I was not disappointed.
I do definitely feel like the tracks were a lot more experimental than her previous releases, but I also feel as though they were not created to enter the charts. I kinda get the impression that ARTPOP was less of an "album" per se, but rather a collection of ideas. An experiment, perhaps, a fusion. Or as she literally titled it, a fusion between 'ART' and 'POP'.
I liked it. It felt like a great change in pace from her usual work, her previous albums do have, either intentionally, or unintentionally an 80's inspired sound (to my ears at least), but this album was very modern, very in your face, very edgy and not really radio play 'suitable'.
Mock all you like about this album being a flop, or complain that it didn't chart, or that there were a limited number of singles, or videos, but frankly, I get the impression that the idea of this album was not about commercial success, or forcefully shoving it down the world's throat. It was more of a laid back 'If you want it, buy it. If you don't want it, don't buy it."
Her ARTPOP could mean anything and that, my fellow little monster, is what it means to me.
I WAS THINKING YOU WERE SAYING IT'S EXTREMELY CHEAP GAGA IS PRICELESS I WOULD PAY $100 for artpop or any album she makes she puts everything in her work I can't believe you would put down that the album is $15 like thats alot of money I realise the value of money and how hard it is to get it but if it's something you LOVE AND BELIEVE IN IT'S WORTH EVERY FUCKIN CENT
ARTPOP was misunderstood, yes it didn't perform well to media standards but for me i play it everyday i love it, if anyone who is meant to support her disses her hard work, please make an album of your own and see how u feel when its slated.
I bought a physical copy and two digital copies of the album. For the amount of time, tears, passion and art I made/had/felt while listening to this album makes my 45 dollars I spent seem like nothing. I thoroughly enjoyed this album, and helped me get through some tough shit. I think it all depends on what the person feels. Was it financially a smart idea for me? I mean is buying any album...financially smart? It's something I wanted and I don't mind paying $15/copy for something Mama puts out.. I support her.
How do you mean ARTPOP has 15 songs and it's $1.30 a song on iTunes..where I live it was $150 for the physical copy and I'm happy to have spent my money on it
