Family Values

When we are little children, we are taught that family is the most important thing in life. They are supposed to be the ones who will protect you, guide you, and help you grow into something beautiful. Family is not supposed to put you in harms way. They are not to jeopardize your childhood, make you be the adult. They are not supposed to call you a liar when you tell them about the sexual abuse that had been going on. The definitely do not believe you when you tell them that four men have repeatedly molested you once a week for years only to be called a slut and that I deserved it. Family is not suppose to call you home from school so that they can go to the bar earlier. Family is not supposed to take advantage of their children. However, when you get older, you realize that you have learned not to do when you have your own family. I have learned that my children deserve the best in life. Unconditional love, opportunities that I was not given, and just the chance to explore life and help then figure out the path to take. All in all, just being supportive. I know that not all families are inclined to be open-minded, but before you cut your losses, fight for them. Family members can be the biggest bullies. Sit, and have a calm dialogue with them. If that does not work, maybe a mediator buffer will help you all come together. I no longer have a relationship with any of my family. Sometimes, circumstances cannot be fixed, but most of the time they can be. However, I now have a great family, husband, two smart, beautiful children, a roof over our heads, food on the table and unconditional love. You may not have the family that you would lime, but you can help change that. There are many ways, the first step is to fight for them. Put a restraining order against her and find any police reports you have with incidents showing her violence Then use them to get he restraining order. Move to another state if you have to.

You can take legal action yourself. In situations like this, it is important that you document everything. Take down the times when you are being checked upon and by whom. Take down every little detail. That is important. If you are in fear for your safety and your child, get a restraining order against them. There are legal grounds for your mother called grandparent rights, but just like visitation with an ex, they too can be supervised.

God, I wish I could stay away from my family and that they would stay away from me. Just found out yesterday that my mother is considering taking legal action against me again in order to see my son who I stopped letting visit her after she tried to drive into my car while he was inside of it. I don't understand why the system won't protect us. I am afraid to leave my home because she knows where I live. I have to watch what I say and do because she has people spying on me and I just don't know who I can trust anymore. I hate it so much. I hate her. and I hate myself for not being able to stand up to her well enough to get across the message that she needs to stay away...

It has been 12 years since I have spoken to my family. To be honest, I am super okay with that. What you read, is just a little bit of my personal story. Yes, there is more. I know that there are people who have had deeper struggles, but, if I can get through the shit in my life, I believe that everyone has that fair shot to a beautiful life! Thank you for your comment, and I am sorry about the struggles that you are going through. Remember, you or anyone can always message me. I am around. I am a stay at home mom, who does university online, and if I do not get to you right away, it is either my studies, helping my children, or just spending time with husband and kids. Keep those paws up, Monster!! <3 <3
