I just wanna say something about Cheek To Cheek. It's quite personal but I'd just love to share it with whoever reads this. I grew up listening to lots of Jazz bc of my grandpa (also Rock like Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Stones etc bc of my mother) and he had the biggest Jazz collection I'd ever seen and when I visited him he let me choose an album we would listen to together and he'd sit in this giant armchair, smoking a cigar and telling me about Jazz and all the artists. Sometimes we would dance together. He'd lift me up on his feet and we'd dance to all the classics. The whole room was filled with that amazing cigar smell and the music and I felt like I was in one of those old films. I learned all his favourite Jazz songs on the guitar and played them for him on his birthday every year. He died on his birthday 2010 and since then I just couldn't listen to Jazz anymore because it just reminded me of him and it hurt so much. When I found out that Gaga and Tony were going to make a Jazz album, I was so happy but I said "I won't listen to it. I just can't" but I bought it anyways. One day I was really sad and I just put it on and when I heard the first of his favourite songs I started crying so hard and thought about turning it off but I let it play and cried my heart out and at the end it was really relieving and it sort of helped me to get over his death after 4 years and accept it. And whenever I listen to Jazz now I feel so happy and remember all the good times with my grandpa. I'm sure he would've loved the album and maybe he's listening with me, sitting in his armchair, smoking a cigar and smiling. Thank you Gaga and Tony for this album, it's perfect.
(The picture is of me and him seeing us after a long time it was at the beginning of 2010)
