I don't know what to do

I don't understand what is going on here. I feel like having an opinion is betraying Gaga. I don't understand what the definition of "fake" or "true" monster is. If I've never really been into jazz music, is that called "betrayal" and being unsupportive of Gaga? No, I don't think so. It's simply my music preference. To be honest, I actually really enjoy Gaga's voice when she sings jazz, and I support her new album with Tony whole-heartedly, but that doesn't mean I really like jazz, and that in turn does not mean I am unsupportive of Gaga's artistic endeavors. It just simply means that I'm not a jazz person, which is ok. If I don't like a particular wig that Gaga is wearing, does that mean I am a "fake" Monster and that I am unsupportive of Gaga's fashion? No. It just means that that particular wig isn't my thing, and that I like other looks on Gaga. I will support Gaga wearing that wig if it makes her happy and makes her feel beautiful, but that doesn't mean that I have to like it personally. It doesn't mean that I love her fashion any less, or think she's any less fabulous, it just means that the wig itself isn't my thing. It doesn't make me less of a Monster to have that opinion. If I say that ARTPOP isn't my favorite album, does that mean that I am "betraying" Gaga and calling it ARTFLOP? No, of course not! I never said it was a "flop" (unless it stands for "f***ing legend of pop") or that I didn't like it, I love ARTPOP! I just said it wasn't my favorite. Born This Way is my favorite simply because a lot of my favorite songs are on that album. But that doesn't mean I don't like the songs on ARTPOP, I love them, Gypsy is actually one of my all-time favorites. I would give my life for Gaga, I would do anything for her, I love her to the ends of the multiverse and back, and I will be her faithful, loving Little Monster for the rest of my life. I care about her a great deal. I support her. But does that mean I can't be an individual and have my own personal opinions and likes and dislikes? I think it would make Gaga sad if all Monsters just followed her blindly and liked whatever she liked and did whatever she did and had no individuality in our opinions. Of course I think that hating is not the right way to go about things, but having an opinion is ok. It's what makes us unique. I don't think it's "betrayal" to have a different opinion than Gaga or other Monsters. It's just being human. So I have know idea what I'm supposed to do when I have a thought I want to share but it might make others say I'm "betraying" Gaga or that I'm not a "true" Little Monster. It makes me feel really sad. If someone could help me figure out what's going on, I'd greatly appreciate it. Hmmm i totally understand what you mean, but dont you think its unnessisary to have an opinion of EVERYTHING she does? wigs etc, like my friends can have their hair however they like and its not my place to say i think its not my thing, cus its not my thing, its theirs. I think a true fan just supports an artist by buying their albums, going to see them live when/if they can, sticks up for them if they are being ripped apart, and sticks around, not like "ugh im so done" asoon as she releases something they dont like etc, gaga has so many more years and albums to do, this is small part of the big picture. Im not a big jazz fan, but when gaga works on something, there is always something special there, im sure we all know that :) its not being a sycophant, its the truth! x

I think it's not about having an opinion it's ok to not like everything she does but here are people being disrespectful to gaga or even tony and I think this is going too far.. So yes it's ok having an opinion it doesn't mean you are "fake" (btw. I hate this word) monster

Sometimes there are things better left unsaid. If you don't like something why spend time discussing it. Go and focus on the this that spikes your interest. Some stuff people bring upon themselves. Like whatever it is you like. If you don't like something, move on. There is no point in ruining something someone else enjoys.

I hate it when fans feel like they have to like everything that Gaga does. However, at the same time, I hate fans who feel like they know Gaga's career better than she does; she is an artist and deserves to be respected for her artistic choices. I think a 'true' fan doesn't have to like everything Gaga does, just respect her choices ^-^

You don't have to like anything, I think as long as you are respectful. I am not dying over cheek to cheek either, but I'm not going to go on a rampage because of it. I think either way people on here are way too obsessed with Gaga. I know we are all monsters, but sometimes things get too far. I saw someone saying people on here wouldn't cut an inch of their hair for gaga and this girl is someone everyone on here likes. Why should I have to live my life clicking videos for 24 hours to help break records I have no real say in? If Gaga teaches us anything its to follow OUR dreams. She is thankful for support but she didn't need obsessive support when she started and she doesnt need it now. Get a dream and chance it. Have the drive to do something that doesn't involve meeting her. I want to meet her too but I feel bad when people say it is their ultimate dream cause I wonder what that person will do when they do meet her. Anyways you dont need to like anything or anyone you don't want to and don't let anyone tell you who you are as a fan or a person. Just be polite and treat others with respect unless they prove they don't deserve it. lol :D

I agree with you! I made a post about this very subject just yesterday. I hate it when people on here make others feel like "fake" (oh yeah, I also hate labels) Monsters just because they don't like *everything* Gaga does.

I think it's risky to label ones self I was not modern "Pop" music person, and for 20 years i refused all that was trendy, but events in life lead me here, were I listened to modern Pop music (gaga was the first) in 2013 for the first time since the 80's.

its called excessive fanatism. and that i genuinely believe its a disease. i have fought with so many monsters that say they don't care what gaga does they will like it. some told me that they wouldn't mind if gaga was a drugadict, they would support her even if she did drugs and bad stuff because its her. i agree completely with you. you are right to have an opinion, just don't make it hurt. your freedom stops were another one´s begin. i don't like jazz. i intend to listen to C2C but i won't buy it, and i most likely won't download it. i decided to make an artist shif while gaga is with C2C, and I'm still waiting for the hate comments...i just don't find jazz appealing, it won't make me dance, it won't make me sing, but that doesnt mean i hate gaga or fall her mistakes for making what she wants. do i want gaga to make cheek to cheek? yes, but only because she seem so happy. do i want her to put another jazz record with tone? not really. but thats just because it means less pop, and more jazz, and thats just not my jam, and i don't see myself as a fake monster for not liking it, i just won't insult her, because thats rude

It's different when you call her out for making the music she wants. You can not like Cheek to Cheek or jazz, but it's done with. All the people who bitch about "oh you're not Gaga anymore" or "no one cares about your jazz" hurts Gaga. And I consider betrayal the people who are saying they want the "real" Gaga back, when she's still herself. Have an opinion, just don't be an ass about it, like a lot of monsters and people who think they know what's right have been doing.
