In 2003 my dear friend, Amily, suffered from an AVM or arteriovenous malformation, a genetic defect which resulted in an eruption and hemorrhage in her brain. This event resulted in Amily becoming locked inside her body for the last 11 years, unable to move her arms, legs or speak, while still remaining completely mentally intact. Less than 1% of people survive this condition and Amily feels very lucky to be alive. Amily is a HUGE Lady Gaga fan, and while she doesn’t ask for much, it would mean the world for her to meet Lady Gaga.
