The making of my artRAVE outfit
The making of my artRAVE outfit
Little Monsters have been asking me how I made my outfit. So I will try to do my best. I hope it inspires you to create your artRAVE outfits! 1. Find fabric you like. I used pink taffeta and it worked well. 2. Get the supplies. Photo 3 is most of the supplies i used. You dont have to use the same brands. Some of them can be spendy. Shop around for whats in your budget. 3. I made a stencil from a blown up image of the V pattern. I used thick watercolor paper but you can also get plain stencil to cut your own. I used a exacto knife to cut out the V's 4. I tested the paint on the fabric to see how it would handle it. I took acrylic paint and mixed a little bit of a glazing medium into the paint. This is so when the paint dries it wont be hard on the facbric. 5. I layed down the fabric and layed something under it cuz the paint may seep through the otherside. I taped my stencil on and dabed the paint onto the fabric with a foam brush. sometimes i used a small paint brush. I did all the white first then the black. This part took me weeks to finish! 6. When thats all done and dry, I got the vogue patterns and cut out my fabric. Me I first made my skirt out of crap material as practice so i wouldnt fuck up on the real one lol. Cuz I modified the skirt pattern to make it short and no pockets. 7. Cut out the pattern pieces and start sewing!!! 8. I dont have a photo of this part, but its the glitter part. After the outfit is sewn then u want to put glitter. Take the mod podge paint on a few sections then sprinkle glitter one color at a time! 9.Wear your masterpiece to the artRAVE and post it! @mohamedaz #ARTRAVE #artraveSeattle #artRaveFASHION #ArtRAVEfasion
