ARTPOP will live forever: My amazing friend Mikayla turned my Pop song into an Artpiece!
*(Don't Tell me How to be a Man - Mikayla A. Willard.)*
I think that's the most memorable moment of my life and i thank that to mikayla and to ARTPOP.
In a world full of hatred, shallowness and intolerance;
In a world where people getting famous for no reason other than to make more money and keep up impossible beauty standards for men and women;
In a world full of people with stones on their hands, ready to be thrown at you if you dare to be diferent;
In a world of pure harrassment and contempt for the artist,
I found somebody that believed me and supported me enough to immortalize my passion in her art.
Among all the meanings ARTPOP had, the one that always touched more was to RESCPECT YOUR CREATIVITY AND YOUR ART. Whenever i feel insecure, powerless, whenever i feel like maybe my art doesnt matter or that nobody is listening. I'll look at that Painting in my wall and i'll get the fuck up and get shit done.
First of all, Before explaing the story behind this Artpiece and what it represents, i just would like to thank you again from the bottom of my heart @mikaylamonster. You're not just gifted but also amazingly talented thank you for believing in me and in my humble pop song.
The artist of this painting is a *synesthète*. A synesthète is a person with a neurological phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway. On Mikayla's case, she can see colors on her mind while listening to music. Not only she have that amazing skill she's also an impressive painter and a very creative person. I once asked her what colors she could see while listening to a demo of a song i wrote called 'Don't Tell me How to be a Man' and she was kind enough to paint what she could see on her mind and even send it to me, From USA to Brazil :).
At first i didnt really felt like putting my demo online so everybody could see it, but since i wrote this song because i was deeply inspired by you my dear friends monsters. i posted the demo on youtube so anyone who's curious could give it a listen while looking at this amazing artwork:
