I redrew and design the tattoo myself. # I've never felt so grateful for what I have in my life than right now, and it's all because of what happened on this day. On March 17th 1997, my parents adopted me from a small orphange in one of the most impoverish cities in the world. Since then, I've traveled thousands of miles to end up here, at an incredible school, and surrounded by incredible people. I was given an opportunity many children dream of, and it's all because of this day and my parents. They have given me an entire world and saved my life. The sacrifices they have made for my sister and I have left a mark on me more permanent than this tattoo. 3.17 is also the birthday of a man whose modest genius and extraordinary spirit inspire me every day. Lee Alexander McQueen was born on March 17, 1969 on the outskirts of London. Ever since he was young he was inspired by the beauty of the world and the beauty of people. His unfiltered passion for art, human rights, and honoring his history inspire me every day to work harder and love more. He battled depression his entire life and found beauty in his darkest hours, a struggle that has defined where I am today.
