Hello Backplane Team! I just wanted to send a note to say "Thank You" My partner @valari4 and I have been active on this site for a while. We see people post often about how they would make the site different, or how negative things are on here. I personally just wanted to say that I APPRECIATE ALL OF YOU!! If it were not for Backplane we would not have met many of the most amazing people that are in our lives. Backplane gave us a way to meet online, communicate with, and get to know many amazing Little Monsters around the world. Both Valari and I now Skype regularly with friends we met through your site. The fact is, your site has helped to change our lives. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ 😄Why I love your site... I know people love telling you how to make it better, so I thought you might like to hear someone say what the DO LIKE!!!! ❤️I love the fact that you created a site where the community has control! We get to make a post "Hot" by liking it or commenting on them. I didn't like this until I began to see that your site actually rewards people for being social! You found a way to encourage users to make friends by rewarding them through the "Hot Page" (I wish all of the users knew that THEY make the posts "hot" and by commenting or liking a post it moves up on the hot page)... My mother always told me "If you do not have something nice to say, say nothing at all" and your site makes that a reality! If you say you do not like something or someone by commenting on their post, they move up on the hot page... Praise in public, tell them privately if you dislike it! This is a great social message!! ❤️I like that I can create my own "personal" page by following people who are like minded to myself. This is great for a user that "dislikes" what the main community is talking about. Just pay attention to YOUR page and not the HOT page! ❤️I like that I can search hashtags to see information on a topic that interests me. ❤️I like that I can see what my friends post if they "Tag" me, but that I do not have to be notified for every post because not everything pertains to me. ❤️I like that your team CARES about the community and listens. Although you cannot "fix" or make every suggestion a reality overnight, the fact that you do work to make it better is amazing! ❤️I am not sure HOW your site makes money? You do not annoy the hell out of me by putting a million pop-ups or advertisements. HOWEVER - thank you for that! Thank you for being about the COMMUNITY you serve and not just the money you can make by ad clicks. ❤️I have many other things I like, and some things that I wish the users understood better so they can protect the community. I will not bore you by making the post too much longer though.... Here is the MAIN reason for my appreciation though... thank you for helping the love of my life.....❤️❤️❤️❤️ ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Valari was in a deep depression and became very "anti-social" out of fear of being treated mean or rejected. This happened in part because of her illness (bipolar), but mainly due to her "friends" ignorance. Having a site that promoted Gaga's message of love and kindness has been a saving grace. YOUR SITE, GOT HER OUT OF BED YOUR SITE, GOT HER COMMUNICATING WITH OTHER PEOPLE YOUR SITE, GAVE HER AN OUTLET AND HELPED US TO DISCOVER "PURPOSE" When we started the "Valarigiftforgaga" project we saw first hand what Gaga's message truly is... We learned so much about the monsters in this community, and why Gaga means so much to them. They gave us letters to give Gaga and shared their stories with us. Through that project we made amazing connections and truly discovered "purpose" in our lives. Just know that without Littlemonsters.com we would not have had a forum to communicate to the fanbase without judgement. Facebook, Twitter, and other social platforms just don't provide the same experience for someone that your site provides. I believe that your platform can and hopefully will work for all "fan" bases. Hopefully other musicians will choose to spread love and kindness! Thank you for providing a gathering place for like minded people, you just might have a solution to much of the online hate...
