How to help someone in grieving?

I understand this is not a bullying support topic but there really isn't any other group to put this post in so please forgive me. Hi Monsters. My best friend is unfortunately about to lose her father due to a long battle of cancer. I was wondering if any of you know how to help someone in grieving? I'm not so sure what to say when the time comes... or what to do, etc. Any suggestions? I would really appreciate your help. Thanks for listening. Paws up.

just support your best friend, she need more support than ever, so ever give her words that could giving her hope and happiness, is hard that she feels right now, but just be with her, she need your support, good luck, paws up!

I have never had someone close to me die, but I've had important people go away in my life. The best advice I could give them is to allow yourself to be sad even if its for a long time. And don't tell them things will get better. They usually know that already and don't want to hear it. Just acknowledge their grieving so they don't feel ashamed for being sad.
