I don't really get why so many people are complaining about not breaking the VEVO record with G.U.Y. Sorry but to me it just looks like people are losing their connection to music. Is this really what this generation is about? Always on the hunt for some meaningless numbers such as likes, votes, views, retweets etc.? I can?t even think of something, that's more irrelevant than that and I don't think that Gaga gives even one shit about something like a breaking a stupid record. People always want her to maintain a certain standard within the mainstream industry or even want her to outdo herself with every new album, video, performance etc. I think this a really sad development. The day the art only gets reduced to numbers, is the day the art dies. When I was a teenager, me and my friends didn't give one single fuck about something like charts, sales or breaking a record. We just came together, listened to music, attend concerts and festivals, talked about our favorite artist and just enjoyed our time together. Those are the experiences, I will always remember and cherish and not a chart position or a fucking record. I'm sure that in 10 years from now, none of you will think of Gaga as a record-breaking superstar but you will think about how you felt when you heared her speech at the Monster Ball or saw the BTW video for the first time or when she collapsed on stage when she broke her hip. These are the things you will carry in your hearts forever and not how many views she had on a video. I will never participate in any of these things because I don't wanna be just another gear in the machinery of this fucked up industry. I wanna be myself and support Gaga by buying her music and spreading her beautiful message that I try to live by all my life now and I don't want anyone to make me feel bad about not breaking a stupid, meaningless record. #ForgetTheNumbersCherishTheMusic #MusicForeverNumbersNever Monsterlove
