I cannot believe some of the reactions of monsters from last nights Swine performance.

This isn't intended to start drama, I just think some of you need to actually listen to the lyrics of Swine, listen to her speech and then re watch the performance. Swine is about rape, it's about all the shit Gaga had to go through to get to where she is now. The vomit is art. The artist drinks soy milk and colouring, and then throws it back up, that's her style of art. Who are we to judge? Her ARTPOP could mean anything. Art is supposed to make you feel something, emotional, uncomfortable, loving, anything. If it doesn't make you feel at least one emotion, you're not looking at it properly. I watched the Swine performance this morning and the amount of comments by 'monsters' being negative was insane. I understand everyone is entitled to their opinion but there's no need to constantly slam the person you look up too. Gaga already gets so much shit from the media and critics, she is not supposed to be getting it from her fans also. Again, that's just my opinion. I've listened to the song, I saw it live at Swinefest, I watched the performance last night, and I completely understand. @gaga never stop doing your thing beautiful, you're doing amazing. I love you so much x

To all the people commenting on this with things like "you need to learn to not speak if you don't understand" understand this. I'm a sexual assault survivor. As a secondary effect to my attack I fell into a series of feeling I'd never be good enough for anything and grew to be very negative of myself. I developed an eating disorder and self harm and sucicial issues. The performance for me, whilst I understand what she was trying to say artistically, fell onto deaf ears. It hurt to see someone replicate that so precisely on stage that it became a trigger for me to open up wounds into my past. That's how triggers work and this performance had no indication it was going to happen so no-one was given the chance to look away. I'm not slamming Gaga or critiquing her, I just think the whole act

You guys. It's not the end of the world if some people don't like a performance. You have to be willing to see the other side and understand that being thrown up on, to some people, may seem a little off-putting. We're always defending LG and saying she has the right to express herself, then we persecute everyone else.

Swine was one of my favorite songs on ARTPOP. Because I knew she was talking about rape. I felt so much anger and rage in it. It shaked me inside, old things bobbed up in my head.. Everytime I listen to Swine, I feel so close to Gaga.. I cry and pull out all the anger.. That's an hard song. And that performance was perfect. I love her so much. She's our creative rebellion. x

I 100% agree with you. Art is Art when it shakes you, making you feel a lot of emotions, making you think about it a lot trying to understand it. Btw, some of us Monsters are only able to repeat Gaga's words like "my ARTPOP could mean anything" or "free the Artist", then when it comes to real art...... No comment.

She was all Doll'd up for the Oscars, it is a good thing for a gal to switch it up according to her moods or taste, makes life interesting and she can always change if she don't like it, but the bottom line to this is she did not break any commandments doing this gig so..

Exactly! The performance was not meant to be comfortable. Rape is not butterflies and kittens. It was supposed to be unnerving...because going through such abuse makes you sick.

I mean it s a very subjective affirmation, what is beauty. ? For me it was beauty just because it comes from the inside, if talking about the beauty of the soul not mathematic beauty

Just like with the incest & rape, I was traumatized as a youth being around drunks and puking. I became Phobic of vomiting, and I still will 100% embrace @gaga expressing her art & her therapy with SWINE. I knew when Millie came on stage what was coming & I still watched because it is her ART & Gaga totally supports her, just like she does all artists being creative. I write poetry & wrote many death & RAGE poems as a youth to GET THE EMOTIONS OUT! That is what Gaga is doing with rape, rage, all the betrayal she's suffered etc. Monsters need to also remember this - @gaga is HUMAN having life experiences, good & bad that she will use her GENIUS to express in her way. ARTPOP is full of emotions if you stop to REALLY LISTEN. Paws up!

I personally loved the performance. As an abuse survivor myself, I really connect with the rage in Swine and listening to it helps me deal with a lot of pain and anger I feel. I don't know why monsters are being negative. It was art and it was Gaga expressing herself.
