All Americans are a mix of other countries--Gaga is part Italian and part French. She's chosen to highlight her Italian roots, but that doesn't make her a true Italian--she's an American with Italian ancestry. Technically she's not even an Italian-American, because she isn't a dual citizen. Italy didn't give us Gaga. Any person that is a white American is just that--they aren't "Italian", "English", "French", or whatever. They may have those roots, but they aren't that nationality--they are American. Same goes for Canada, or any European country....
