Fan-made ARTPOP Film: SWINE This is a film about rebirth; A new era. I’ve spent the longest time trying to please the wrong people. Only now, at twenty-three years old am I realizing that I’ve been surrounding myself with fucking toxic for the past eight years of my life. All I wanted was acceptance. I’ve done awful things to impress them. Things I’ll always regret. Things that made me feel like a pig. Luckily, they exiled me and accused me of something I didn’t do, so I was set free. It was both sad and liberating at the same time. It inspired me. Instead of drinking every second of every day, I dedicated my mind, my heart, and my wallet into this film. Whether you have to do it, or if they conveniently do it for you, you have to opt out. If you don’t, they’ll initiate your own decay. They don’t love you, you don’t need them. Let them do what they want, let them say what they want, let them believe what they want. Befriend the weirdos, befriend the artists, befriend the dream chasers. These are the people who will be successful. These are the people who will continue to inspire you every single day. These are the people who will hold your hand every step of the way. We used three songs for this film. Dope, Do What U Want, and Swine. Dope is supposed to be the idea that you need someone or a group of people in your life more than anything in the world, no matter how poisonous or influential they are. Do What U Want is the point where you snap back to reality and make the choice to distance yourself from these people. They won't approve. They'll continue to bully and bash you every chance they get. This is the part of the story where you basically ignore them, let them do what they want and say what they want. Swine is when you realize that these people were walking time bombs the entire time. It's the celebration.
