i don't think this is disrespectful, it's not like he's sitting on somebody's grave - it's a memorial not a graveyard. I actually went there with some friends from another country and two of them are jewish. They didn't have a single problem with children laughing and playing in it - not at all. for me it's only disrespectful if you damage it - with spray paint or whatever; I would punch someone in the face for that. and also it seems that the people having a problem with him sitting on it are people from other countries/ who have never been there. people who were there and know "the atmosphere" think differently. i just thought that says something about the whole situation
Andrew Miller - this memorial is not supposed to be a depressing reminder of the holocaust it's supposed to be a modern day interrractive memorial which allows people to share happiness there. Children play hide and seek, people read a book and some people take a photo. For we are not supposed to be sad when we go there, fake displays of sadness aree tacky, not the other way round.
