I have been reflecting on just how much ARTPOP has helped me since it's release, and even months prior to it's release. The lyric "My ARTPOP could mean anything" - is SO true. So in the summer of 2012 my mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness, which sadly resulted in her passing away in November of 2012. In 2013, once I had managed to pick myself up, the release date for ARTPOP was announced - November 2013, exactly a year after my mother's passing. Having the build up to ARTPOP distracted my mind from a wave of negative thoughts, and actually helped the month of November to be a lot less bitter than expected. In addition to this, I also saw Lady Gaga at iTunes Festival. So Gaga, if you're reading, I want to say THANK YOU for this. It wasn't even intentional of you, but you honestly gave me the motivation and inspiration I needed to carry on from this dark period of my life. I honestly couldn't have gotten through some of the most miserable days of November without ARTPOP & you. For me, ARTPOP symbolises new beginnings, prosperity and most of all, hope.
