Rant about these "stop being depressed" posts.
Rant about these "stop being depressed" posts.
I have been seeing a lot of posts on here ranting about how people should "stop being depressed" and including pictures of people with cancer. I do understand some of their intentions by posting these sort of stuff, but it really comes out as rude. Depression is a serious mental illness. It's not that easy to just "stop being depressed." It can take so much time for it to go away. Although, I do agree that there's people who have worse out there (cancer for example), but by putting down people who are depressed/going through a hard time by using a image of someone with cancer that you found on Google doesn't really help at all. I just don't see why people ARE YELLING LIKE THIS ON POSTS (like we hear you calm down lol).
Just think before you post stuff like this. There are people on here who are going through many struggles. Some have serious depression, anxiety disorders, etc or some just have a bad day. HOWEVER (now i'm yelling lol), you don't know if your post will trigger some dangerous steps to those people. Maybe someone is scrolling through this and really wants to kill themselves? Be compassionate and kind. Instead of yelling on how people should stop being depressed, why don't you message them with kind words and offering them support and let them know that you are here to listen. If you think by comparing depression and cancer is going to make a difference, WRONG. This comparision is irrelevant and makes no sense at all. As someone who's been through a lot these past years, I know it's hard to stay positive. I struggle with this everyday but LIFE is great. LIFE is full of great things, but it takes a positive attitude to see all of this. Think about it, how would your parents, friends and @gaga feel if they see you like this? I know my mom gets heartbroken when she sees me in pain. That's a sign that people do care about you.
The first step is to talk to someone about how you feel. Talk to a parent, friend, a guidance counselor or psychologist at school. There are resources out there offering help. But it's up to YOU, to take the first step in getting help. It does get better, BUT YOU NEED TO BELIEVE THAT IT WILL GET BETTER.

So, in summary please stop making people feel bad about being depressed just because you think that there's people who have more worse than them. That's fine if you think about it and you are free to post something about it but no need to be rude about it. Gaga created this website for a reason: to be compassionate to one and other and be kind. You are free to express an opinion about something but in a NICE way.
I hope you have a great day y'all and remember: there's nothing wrong in asking for help.
