Gaga please read. I need help

Social anxiety disorder controls my life. I'm twenty now and have never had a job, never signed up for college and now have no friends because I'm too ashamed to be around them having yet done anything since I graduated high school, which has been almost three years now. My family is fed up with me not doing anything, I wish they could feel how desperately I want to but just the thought of having a conversation with another person terrifies me. Even normal everyday events like crossing the street or ordering food at a restaurant makes me sick with fear. I can't even go to a psychiatrist to get a prescription for "happy" pills because fear consumes me. Social anxiety has left me so lonely I have no one to go to for help. Can my monster family please give some advice? I love you all. #gaga #ineedhelp #lonely #needhope #goddessoflove

It truly is, it's not like other phobias, where only in rare or certain circumstances do they face them. But the phobia of people is just inescapable, I don't know how people like me can have normal lives. And although I know it's one of the most common fears out there, I've never met or even spoken to someone who has it as well. It comforts me to know there are others like me, not that I'm happy you suffer from it, but to know I'm not alone in this battle. Congrats on going back to school, glad to hear you're doing so well with it too. That's a huge step. Thank you, not only for giving me hope that if someone else out there like me is trying and succeeding, I can too, but for reaching out to me in general. I really appreciate that.

i have social anxiety, too. it's one of the most difficult things i've ever dealt with. I can totally relate to not being able to do normal things, even the smallest things like ordering food. It causes me to miss out on a lot of opportunities and i've truly isolated myself from a lot of good people and a lot of good friends. i hate to think that some one else feels this way. you are not alone, and i hope that knowing that i am struggling too, gives you hope. i havent been able to go back to school for a while, i'm 25, and this last semester i really made goals, and made a promise to myself to kick ass. i went back to school, signed up for 16 units and got my first 4.0! there is hope. i make lists of the things i have to do, sometimes that helps, putting your mental vomit on paper.
