Today was the day. When I saw that artpop zone tickets were available and the amount of cash they costed, I made a choice. At first I was at a loss, 1500 dollars is an insane amount of cash for a 20 year old college student planning on going to a pretty expensive law school. Yet, the value of these tickets are priceless. Thankfully I have a lot of scholarships and a job, but at the end of day, money is tight. I had been saving up money on the side for few years to plan a trip abroad, because it has been my mothers dream to go to Italy so I wanted to treat her. I was torn on what to do, so naturally I called my parents and we talked everything over. My mom said she would so let me purchase the meet and greet tickets saying , " Kayla, Italy will always be their for us and we will find our time, but this is a once in a lifetime moment. I'd feel bad if i made you pass this up! You've worked so hard and got a full ride to college. You've earned it, and you earned the money yourself. Buy them" and I teared up, because my mom is not very expressive and she has always been on the demanding side. I never thought she noticed how spread thin I was, or how much I've been working. So I bought the ticket, and was both nauseous From spending so much, and completely euphoric! I love my parents so so much, and I cannot believe this is happening. To tell you all the truth, I'm a double major and a double minor, and I am seeking to go into copy right/ entertainment law. I love gaga so much. Not only does she supply the soundtrack to my happiest memories of my life/youth, but she has allowed me to know that not only can one accomplish what they believe, but one can do something of substance and truly make a difference. I've been conflicted. If I did do legal work for a entertainment franchise, would I just be part of the glitzy distraction, or would I actually work to help people? Gaga, you've upped my drive by giving me something to shoot for. Regardless of what I do, I will spread love, even if I work in a selfish industry-- wether it's DC or LA.
