Record breaking has nothing to do with why I will watch the video. I will watch the video repeatedly because Mother Monster is talent and I enjoy her work. Listening to her music and seeing her be what she wants too, regardless of criticism, is why I love her.

If you resort to tricks, then beat the record, another fan base will do the same later. This cycle will keep going. In the end, how much time will this waste? We could be spending that time appreciating the music and living.

It's not just Monsters being lazy. A lot of us are realizing we don't have to be on top all the time (G.U.Y. pun intended). Honestly, we shouldn't try to break records with tricks. We shouldn't focus solely on the numbers. We should watch it because we love the art. We crave the music. I'm not saying don't watch it. Watch it on loop for a full 24 hours for all I care. But do it because you are captivated by the art.
