I called this "Pop Mythology" even before ARTPOP came out, but I saw Caravaggio in this pic from American Idol perofrmance.

Often I see a photograph that reminds me of a particular artist or paintng. Even if my painting is not a recreation of the famous painting, I am trying to capture the beauty of the photograph as well as the painting it reminds me of.
