Well she was hiding in the past, her true self :) i think that it was a reference to the message of the speech she had on the iTunes festival about the wigs and her looks, that it made her feel stroger because she could be anyone she wanted to be and she felt more secure but now she`s revealed "the person underneath the wigs" as she stated it

i think that's what people actually say to her and she repeated it back to the haters to casually mock herself and haters at the same time
