I always felt the end of the Marry The Night video seemed like the end of a chapter, with an evolutionary feel to it. The fact that the hat is Paco Rabanne is irrelevant - the hat could certainly be a reference to The Gazing Ball. Gaga was working on ARTPOP so early in the Born This Way era. The way the music sounds like it's deep under water - the same way ARTPOP the track sounds. Love it.
