A lot of people don't understand what autotune is. Katy Perry actually doesn't use it, neither does Gaga. They've put electronic effects to their voices sometimes (Poker Face verses, and the A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E post chorus of Applause for ex.) That's different than autotune. A ot of software can be used to adjust certain notes, but that's different than what autotune is. Plus, often times they just record the vocals over and over (as well as certain sections of vocals) til they sound as they want them to.
