yeah it was on purpose, like the way she is reusing old eras wigs or looks and also dance moves, i can see the pokerface circle fingers on the eye move (thou it also looks like a a monocle, for the geeks) and the Telephone sandwich teeth dance move on Applause choreography and is on purpose "nostalgia's for geeks" and she explained it on that fan video after the performance, is not about bringing old stuff back, is about using old ideas/clothes/concepts and making them brand new while being fused or merged together, exploring new possibilities :) and its awesome! i loved to see the short hair with bangs in brunette or the hairbows or the styles of clothing she has been used in concerts :')
