I have been saying this for weeks now. It's not that applause is a terrible song, it's just a higher form of music. It's more educated in it's sound, lyrics, etc. Lady Gaga has shifted from the average pop music that's written elsewhere and sent to a studio, and easily singable, cliché, and sadly, average. To me that is roar, it's not that it's a bad song, it's just exactly what Perry knows will rocket it up the charts, and it did.

Gaga and Katy are friends yet monsters and katy kats cant seem to get along, why is that when both fanbases have the same demographic? I have listened to both applause and roar and i have to say i prefer applause but roar is not without its charm

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You may think applause is better than roar but there are people who think roar is better than applause and I'm sure they have a massive list of reasons too. What maters is Katy made this beautiful song and he's happy with it enough to release it to the world. I never think gaga is better than anyone or that her sons are better than other songs because everyone is different. And if everyone was all the same making the same music, what kind of world would that be? Stop the drama start the music.

They are both good, both have different music style, gaga is more out there. People need money, and making music makes money, gaga does if for both as well as most other artists,becasue without the fans there would be no music. So two compare two artist with two different styles i dont think can really work. Though for me i am a fan of both the new songs :P

This post doesnt offend anyone.It just says that Roar is more, well, easy to understand, not a big statement, just a song with lions and tigers with a lovely comic music video. Instead Applause has a powerful meaning, every single lyric has its own meaning and the fact that HUGE DIRECTORS made the music video, the explosion of colors and the handpainting.Guys Applause is much better than Roar. Seriously, not because im a little monster, but this is the truth.Katy SHOULD STOP doing that suparpop albums and get serious. Roar is a good but boring song.She was gorgeous on her music video, the scenery was magic, but the acting of hers and the whole video sucked!
