I got this tattoo back in 2011 just after I graduated high school on my left side ribcage. The Edge of Glory is an extremely special song to me because it debuted only months after my cousin died from cancer. And the first time I heard the song I cried. Before my cousin died he told me "I want to die living." So he started brewing his own beer and doing standup comedy in New York, he travelled around and he even did it all with only one arm (he had his left arm removed because of the cancer). And keeping that in mind I knew that even though the cancer killed him, he never once let it win. Even when he was dying in the hospital he promised to come to see me in my school musical even though we both knew it would never happen. He never let it get to him. Like Gaga's grandparents, I knew he won at life, not matter how short his life was cut. So this tattoo is to commemorate his outlook on life, to remind me to live every day to the fullest, and of course to show my appreciation for Gaga. #gaga #tattoo #edgeofglory #mothermonster #monstertats
