What most people aren't understanding is not the source of inspiration, but rather the concept of it. Gaga grew up listening to older artist such as The Beatles, Bowie, and even Madonna. Along side with more current artist as Britney Spears. We all know art and theater has ALWAYS been her passion and to be who she is today is something she truly desired and worked for. Her concept has always been the same- and Gaga will never be a phase just as Pop music won't be low brow. I know some monsters like to hate on Nicki or Katy and don't know how to express their thoughts in a more presentable manner. I believe what they mean is a lot of music and fashion being done by current artist such as Nicki, Katy, Kesha, whoever simply seems more like a phase, bandwagoning, doing what is "cool" today.
