Nudity in Art (read description)

The picture I made is quite blunt, so this is my take on the issue of nudity: I believe that the human body is a beautiful creation, and isn't something to be ashamed of. Society has conditioned as that, because our bodies are shown in porn films, all nudity is dirty. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. Porn, especially straight porn, abuses the human body, where people treat each others like meat for money. Nudity doesn't not have to be like that - it can be pure, and beautiful. Do not confuse Porn with nudity, and don't be ashamed of your body, because it's a piece of art, and every pimple, stretch mark or bit of cellulite is just a brush stroke #GaGaPics #ladygaga #littlemonsters #littlemonsters #art #love #bornthisway #mothermonster <3

Do you know polish tenis, Agnieszka Radwanska? Last time she publicated her naked photos (hmm, naked, her chest and vagina was hiding) and because she publicated it , people excluded her from action "I'm not ashamed of Jesus". Uuhm, sorry, but even first people were naked. It's in the Bible. OUR BODY IS A MASTERPIECE OF GOD, and it's porn for someone because some stupid people made a pornographic films. (sorry for bad english)

as an art student, I 100% agree with this post. Nudity is art. BUT, I don't think that's the purpose of little monsters on this site. They are horny and they crave attention.

The human body is such a beautiful thing and Im mature enough not to freak out when I see one naked. It's such a complex thing with everything working in it in unison. How can people find that to be disgusting?

"It's just a brush stroke" I love how you talk! I agree with your point of view but I just don't see why suddenly evreyone is posing naked and posting those pictures. I think this is part of the ARTPOP concept, it's different. It is now not about the clothes and the fame but actually about a person and their creation "getting in control of her own image" like it said on the ARTPOP message with the first promotional picture.

All of you who think that nudity means porn are just SICK. Nudity express a lot. Express weakness, naturality. If you associate nudity with porn, it's YOUR PROBLEM. Not ours. We can still make and enjoy art. Nude bodies are pure, porn not. Learn the difference

Humans have a dirty and sex addicted mind. Unfortunately, for the most of us, nude is about sex. They don't understand the beauty of the human body, their brains is always telling SEX SEX SEX. That makes me sick!

Agree 100%! In art classes, you learn that nude and naked are two different things. Nude is called so because the "u" represents "unashamed". When someone is nude in art, they are unashamed of their body and are showing it in a way that is not vulgar or offensive. All of these pieces represent nudity, not being naked and it is therefore appropriate not offensive or vulgar.
