Just watched an autobiography of Waris Dirie's life and journey as a top model and as a....circumcised woman (female genital mutilation). The best part of it was the fact that she took on a responsibility of becoming an ambassador of the UN to stop the growth (currently at that time://130million of girls) of mutilated woman. The word got spread out and female genital mutilation became illegal in many countries.
“Women’s loyalty has to be earned with trust and affection, rather than barbaric rituals. The time has come to leave the old ways of suffering behind” - Waris Dirie
The movie not only made me think of female genital mutilation but also of the impact that a single person had on the lives of many.
It reminded me that we can all make a difference, we all have a voice. You're not less or more than others; if the cause is correct; if your voice speaks justice; then your word will get spread out.
Thank you Gaga for making a difference on LGBT communities and thank you Dirie for making a difference on unfair and unequal rituals.

PS: Sorry for the disturbing picture. It is just for my point to get across.
