Dear Mother Monster:
Dear Mother Monster:
Do not worry about what the media and general public think or say about you. You are doing important things; you are igniting change within this world by using your voice and standing up for what you believe in. You have shaped the way my generation views artistry and activism. You have never backed down, you've only risen. You have never feared prejudice or judgement, you have only looked it in the eye and said "this is not the way." You have, by being fearless and confident within your own aesthetic, shown your fans how to do the same, how to not only accept who we are, but decide and actively shape who we are, or who it is we want to be in the future. I love you, I believe in what you're doing. We all do. Your beautiful not because of your hair color or make up, but because you see the world in such a unique way and have devoted yourself to showing others that vision. People say we "blindly follow" whatever it is you say or do, but this is simply untrue. We get excited (and defensive in the case of some monsters,) about your work because we believe in the comprehensive, underlying message of it. We wouldn't be so passionate if we didn't think we had a concept of what your art means; it's why we are so analytical when it comes to your performances, music videos and overall image. We relate to the way you view pop culture. I'd hardly call this connection blind.
I love you. You have made me so brave. I will always be on the edge of my seat when it comes to your work. Can't wait to dance my ass off to ARTPOP xoxo
Jack
