Brave in High School
Brave in High School
This is a picture of me about two years ago... I was a tiny freshman in high school who had a self-cut lady gaga fame era inspired haircut that was very scraggly. I had no friends, and was the only girl in band who played trombone (the other trombone players were boys). I was a very good trombone player, and showed all the boys who thought 'girls shouldn't play trombone' a piece of my mind by winning every competition. Unfortunately, I was forced to quit band and transfer high schools due to the harsh bullying and harassment I got from those boys. It took a toll on me, and made me feel worth nothing at my very lowest points. But throughout it, I stayed strong and extremely brave. I always wanted to show everyone that I was not afraid to be different no matter what the cost. On homecoming that year, I had no one to go with, so I wanted to be crazy and so I got the idea to 'take my trombone to homecoming.' I literally put a garter on it's slide with my name on it, and made myself a mum that had 'trombone' on it. I was scared to walk into school that day, but I knew I was doing it to make people laugh with me and simply to show everyone how brave I could truly be. Even though I do not go there anymore, people always remember me as the 'girl with the cheap gaga haircut who took her trombone to homecoming.' :) And hey, I'm freaking proud of that!!! #bullyingisforlosers #JustLoveYourself #justputyourpawsup #bullyingvictim #PersonalUp #EndBullying #BornBrave
