Art in its essence can never be truly original. Since art began when the first neanderthal making a rough painting on the side of a wall, it has been an evolution. Artists from the beginning take elements from their predecessors and rework them into there art. I'm honestly not a huge Madonna fan because I think her career was aimed almost to provoke on purpose but that's beside the point. Gaga has taken elements from Madonna who has taken from Iconic movie stars who have taken from previous artist. All art derives from a single source and should be analyzed in the moment, not judged with hindsight 24/7. Let art be art and either love it or just say "it's not for me" and move on.
