Actually I some of those regular sized mannequins also one day when i was shopping in the mall. And i was really surprised. It felt like something was totally wrong. So i stared at them and then it hit me, that they were ACTUALLY NORMAL! It was nice to see non barbie figures!
There's like no grey zone in regards to body image. Those who are overweight are told they're unhealthy, but then it seems like no matter how thin someone is, it'll never satisfy society's depiction of beauty. I, for one, say FUCK THAT! PEOPLE COME IN DIFFERENT SHAPES AND SIZES AND THEY ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL! It's an unrealistic fantasy, and the quest to achieve that so called "beauty" can be incredibly dangerous. NO SOCIETY: BARBIE DOES NOT EXIST! NO ONE WILL EVER HAVE HER PROPORTIONS AND LIVE AT THE SAME TIME! So be who you want to be, and treat others the way you'd like to be treated. Beauty is not a number on the scale, it's the life that dwells in the container that is your body: thoughts & feelings, experiences. That's what truly makes you you.
In a perfect world this might be a good idea ... unfortunately, in the real world it isn't at all. With 30-40% of society being overweight this approach is totally wrong. Don't make obesity become accepted, it is a serious illness which kills A LOT of people every year.
Help people to attain a healthy BMI instead!
( I'm talking healthy, not size zero or anything similarly crazy)
FINALLY !!! Yes all the womens are not very slim with pretty big breast and bounced ass !! And Abercombrie&Fitch stores just stopped to distributed garments of a size higher than 38 ( that's in Europe size, 8 in US size, 40 for french size....) like it was wrong to be a bit curvy !!! I hate that...
