Got a message from my daughter Carla (turned 22 on 21 April 2013) to ring her, so on my next break at work I gave her a call. We chatted about things that have happened lately as she broke up with her boyfriend about 2 months ago, as I have been unable to contact her as she had no phone during that time. Then she comes out with "Dad do you know that I now have a Girl-Friend", which I had heard a rumor about a week ago, but was lovely to hear it come from Carla. All I replied was "If you are happy then I am happy for you", in which there was a teary "Thankyou Dad" reply. I have heard that most of the family on her mother's side are against the relationship, but then I am glad I have very little contact with them. Hopefully Carla and Jess will be able to make it home for a visit in the next couple weeks so I can give the girls a big hug.
