The fabric was hand stamped with images of surveillance cameras that I carved linoleum stamps into! The inspiration for the garment and the overall project comes from the observation of the pervasiveness of technology in society today and how someone can become reliant on the media to shape who they are as an individual. Ultimately I think it is that reliance that dehumanizes someone and makes them lose sense of themselves. The garment itself is meant to represent the idea of privacy in technology today through the surveillance cameras and how it social media etc. can inhibit a clear view of the world, which is represented by the exaggerated collar that inhibits the proper movement of the head.
