The Illuminati is a group the church started saying they were influencing bad stuff to the people and they were going to take over the world. People who were part of the "Illuminati" included Galileo because he proved the theory that was stated before that the earth revolved around the sun, not the the other way around. He proved it to be accurate and the Catholic Church was absolutely furious because those scientists, astrologists, etc (The Scientific Revolution) all ruined the Church's thousands of years of teaching and these brilliant people just crumbled it. That's why MONSTERS they Catholic Church labeled them "The Illuminati". Hope this helps people understand.
