Oh Chrisco ! @chriiiiisco
I think ARTPOP is going to be a sarcastic slam to everyone who ever dissed Born This Way.
I think ARTPOP is going to be a sarcastic slam to everyone who ever dissed Born This Way.
Lady GaGa said that on “Born This Way”, she showed a sign of maturity and responsibility for her fans, and the backlash from the media and public was horrific. She was slammed from every direction for being “Fake”, or “Not genuine”, or “Not actually caring, but exploiting the underdog for money”.
With this next album, ARTPOP, GaGa says that she is displaying a “lack of maturity or responsibility.” Lately, since the announcement of ARTPOP, she has gone against everything she’s ever said. She told Ellen she was against wearing fur, and she started wearing fur. She’s posting controversial tweets, and then deleting them after everyone has enough time to see and report about them. Things like, “Pop starts don’t eat”, which was offensive to people with eating disorders, and her oh so famous marijuana tweets. I think that she’s trying to be a bitch to everyone who ever made fun of her album Born This Way.
Born This Way was a very personal album for her, and she put a lot of effort and emotion into it. Even in her performances where she talked to the crowd “too much” about how they can be anything they want to be, and she would often cry on stage as she gave her speeches. To have that completely crucified by the public must have destroyed her; being called all these names, being called a bad influence, a bad example, irresponsible, offensive, etc. She’s basically saying (with this new album), “I’ll show you bad influence. I’ll show you bad example. I’ll show you fake bitch. I’ll show you. You wanna see it? I’ll show you.”
It would explain Princess Die, which was her subtle intro to the album’s promotion. The song is lyrically about people wanting to see her die. People wanting to see her fail, or fuck something up. She says she probably won’t use the song on the album, as it doesn’t fit the theme. The theme of what? Not giving a fuck? Exactly. The song is too personal for an album about immaturity, and irresponsibility. ARTPOP will be GaGa’s ARTISTIC way of throwing shade at the media, and the public. Watch.
