What is wrong with teachers?

Hey Monsters! Dunno if it's just because I go to a rubbish school but what is wrong with teachers? Do they not know the meaning of 'Bullying'? I have this one friend who gets bullied a lot mostly by boys in our year (11) And she found out she had to sit next to one of her worst enemy during class, she polity asked if she could move because of the issue with him, what does she do? Go and say well your going to have to sit there, although there were spare seats in the class!? Then throughout the lesson he hurt her and kept teasing her, and the teacher saw! Seriously cannot wait to get this year done and over with and get to college! Guess i'm gonna have to go explain to the teacher what the meaning of 'Bullying' is... Not all teachers are this oblivious...I teach and kids feel safe in my classroom because I listen to them. Some people just shouldn't be teachers and they give the good ones a bad name. Don't group us all together...

I'm a high school teacher, and unfortunately, I have colleagues who are just as heartless as the teacher you described. I also have many who do care. I really try to make my class a safe zone for all. If a student wants to vent or needs a break from the social hell, my room is always open. I hope there is at least one adult at school who will support you and your friend. Find that person!

That´s sad... some teachers are great.. but some of them really don´t give a fuck and have personality issues, I think... and they try to hide them by misusing their "power" and authority or whatever... just go to your principal... tell the problem.. this is not okay and not appropriate for a teacher what she did to you!

it seriously enough. This just gives the bully more empowerment! What a big mistake. As for me, I would have confronted this most unacceptable behavior, and reported to the higher ups. I can tell you that I wasn't too popular for doing this, but I didn't care. This is a serious behavior problem that has taunted some youths to commit intentional suicide, which is the 10th leading cause of death in USA. I can't tell you how upsetting this. A school environment is for learning, empowerment, caring, understanding, and safety! I am really so sorry that a student has to be the observer and reporter to this teacher or someone els.

Not all teachers are heartless, but this one seems to be one of the many. Have you tried talking to your school's counsellor or principal?
