Can someone please explain to me why Marry The Night was not nominated for a VMA????

Marry the Night is such a beautiful video its like 13 minutes of art. And has an awesome message. I dont get how videos like starships can get nominated because that video is just simple unlike Marry the Night. I mean Marry the Night has awesome choreography, awesome music, and perfect editing. some please explain.

I think actually VMAs are awarded to the best selling artists, regardless of the quality of their videos. That's why video completely lacking artistic value, like Call me Maybe or Starships, are nominated and also have a good chance to win. Instead Marry the Night wasn't a huge chart success so they ignored it just as they ignored many other good videos, like Lana's or Florence's ones.

They probably want to lower her profile a bit because she would've stole this show, just like she did in previous years. She's a fuckin winner VMA or not.

There is a slight chance for next year??? i've seen it happen before??? Maybe next year she will have noms for the fame commerical and new ARTPOP vids

The VMA's are just another part of the 'machine'. Besides Mother Monster doesn't do music videos. She does visionary jests of magical electronic symphonies;)

Nadie duda que marry the night es lo mejor que a pasado este año, en realidad no se por que no se presento.... es una perdida grande para MTV pero yo creo que es por que GAGA esta en tour nada mas ...

the VMA's are going to have a bad low rating this year since Gaga won't be there. I mean I don't know about you guys, but i'm not watching the VMA's because of this, and everyone I know feel the same way.

That's a good question and when i saw the nominations i asked exactly the same and then i laught. After thinking a bit, my conclusion is that on VMA's they want videoclips, they don't want ART. They want something that they can show easily and a video with 13-mins duration obsiously don't fit that criteria, it doesn't matter how good it is. In the end, i'm kinda happy to not see Marry The Night on VMA's, the Marry the Night video deserves something better...

The VMA's snubbed Lady Gaga this year. Nobody knows for sure why ecxept MTV and Gaga of course. There are many reasons why she wasnt nominated this year. Here's an article on it: ca.music.yahoo.com/...
