what are the songs from "born this way" about...?
hey guys,
first of all, these are my own thoughts. i won't claim they are officially gaga.
so here are my interpretation of the songs from the album "born this way":
1.) Marry the Night: It's about coping all of your problems, showing everyone that you can do it. you may seem to be desperate, and you'll have to give some things up, but in the end it was worth it.
2.) Born this Way: I don't think i have to say much to this song. It's a empowering hymn for all people, who feel like they don't fit in, because they're different. be who you are, because that's how god made you.
3.) Government Hooker: History is full of politicians who had sexual affairs with women and hookers. Gaga is asking herself: Did these women have any influence on the politicians minds?
4.) Judas: It's about being betrayed by someone many times, yet you still fall for him. i think "jesus is my virtue" is a metaphor for forgiving the betrayer as a way of coping with it and letting go.
5.) Americano: Americano is a comment on homosexual marriage. "I don't speak your americano" = "I have no Idea what you're talking about"... Americano is a mix of American and spanish... so the politicians or people in general who are against same-sex-marriage speak "spanish" to gaga, because she can't understand them.
6.) Hair is about expressing yourself. let your outside be as wonderful as your inside, and don't give a fuck about what others say, no matter if they like it or not! You are free and can do whatever you want with your body.
7.) Scheiße: Scheiße is a song about emancipation. on the one hand women feel attracted to men. on the other hand men are suppressing women. it's like a curse. gaga thinks this is scheiße (which is german for shit). the whole song is very influenced by electro-pop and club music and a homage to german dance music.
8.) Bloody Mary: TBH i'm not sure about this one. In my personal belief it's about giving up love, because you were betrayed.
9.) Black Jesus - Amen Fashion: It's a very personal song about gaga when she was young, building up her life/carreer in NYC. if you wanted to be successful you had to put on another attitude.. a bossy, strong one. Black Jesus is a metaphor for a new belief/attitude, which is against of EVERYTHING you are used to. gaga sings about how putting on a new attitude /lifestyle is as easy as putting on fashion.
10.) Bad Kids: Ever felt like you are a whole big disappointment for your parents, friends, or anyone else? You are not! We are all bad kids, because we all do bad things sometimes. you are still good to gaga, she loves you no matter what you did.
11.) Fashion of his Love: This is a song about a relationship gaga once had (or maybe with Taylor? :P). Fashion is something that can be weird or shocking sometimes. it changes all the time, and haute coiture can be hard to reach. And so is love! it may be hard sometimes, if you love somebody (arguments, being betrayed, etc) but you still love him.
12.) Highway Unicorn (Road to love): The way to a perfect world with no hate is love. Loving others. You can reach the state of total freedom, with nothing more simple than love.
13.) Heavy Metal Lover: Sex is great. nuff said.
14.) Electric Chapel: at the born this way ball i had that feeling, that gaga thinks, that going to a gaga ball is just like worshipping a religion, going to church. "this may not be church, but it's definiatly an electric chapel"
15.) The Queen: It's about letting go of all of your insecurities, showing your inner queen on the outside.
16.) Yoü and I: It's a song about when love was more easy. she's dreaming of her first love she had, and how it affected her whole life. but somehow it didn't work out right, but there are so many happy memories about it, that make gaga feel great. I love it, how the guy in the video makes gaga more and more to the gaga we know now, changing her.
17.) The Edge of Glory: This is my favorite song, and I love it that gaga put it as the last song of the album. it's about releasing all of your power at the end. you feel that these are your last minutes on earth, and you celebrate it, you're happy for all the fun you had,. you end with a last big bang of your life.
So monsters, do you think I'm right? correct me if i'm wrong at some parts.
gaga if you read this, i'd love to know if I hacked your mind? :D
