My name is Emily and I am 19 years old from Adelaide, Australia. I have never written a letter to a pop star before but I feel that I need to let you know how much you mean to me. I have always loved your music, but it wasn’t until I started watching and reading interviews about you, following you on Twitter, that I really understood what you stand for. I was not present at the Monster Ball, however I have it on DVD and I wish every day that I could turn back time so that I could attend that. I was at the first Born This Way Ball in Melbourne and I wanted to thank you so much, it was an amazing performance and the atmosphere in the Monster Pit was like nothing I could ever have dreamed of. I also wanted to thank you because I feel so privileged that Australia was the first country to ever hear Princess Die. For some reason I have always felt like I don’t fit in with other people, and you have taught me that it is alright to feel this way because everybody is born differently, and it is through our differences that we are all the same. You have introduced me to a whole community of little monsters who feel exactly the same as I do and they will become life long friends. So, I also wanted to thankyou for introducing me to this monster community, it has become like a family to me. You have taught me that at the end of the day it is ok to be exactly who I am and I shouldn’t care about what other people think of me. You have taught me to fight hard for what I believe in, and if I fight hard enough for it, it will eventually come true. For this I thank you so much. You are making so many changes in this world and everything about you, especially your quotes, are so inspirational to me. Another thing I love about you is that you are so honest. Other artists lie about their past but you are so open with us and honest about everything. What you see is what you get and that is so important to me. Whenever you feel sick when you’re performing I just want you to rest so that you feel better because your health is the most important thing to me. Gaga, you give me strength, hope and happiness every single day. I think it’s amazing that you don't even know I exist but you have taught me so much about love, acceptance, and how to be myself in a world which does nothing but try to make us somebody else. So Gaga, if people try to hate on you, please don’t let it get to you. You have inspired so many people including myself and you are leading us into a better world where there is acceptance and bravery.
